What is the Shatterverse?
The Shatterverse is what I’m calling this tribe of people, my potential readers, who love reading their cherished works in new ways.
On a deeper level, this group is for those who hold these beloved books close like an old friend. Those who were home alone on a Friday night in high school, wondering why everyone is hanging out without them. Those who pulled out a worn copy of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ when their family home felt like non-stop chaos. Those who constantly feel rejected by the mainstream, not quite fitting in anywhere. Those who find themselves playing these stories in their minds when the real world seems inescapable.
The Shattered Mirror series will be comprised of five books and a novella that retell classic gothic literature in a new way. Book one, Haunted, is written, currently being edited, and will be released October 7, 2026! I’m so excited to share it with the public By excited I mean I have anxiety-induced acid reflux spontaneously throughout each day.
The stories in the series are:
Novella - “The Raven” & “Lenore” by Edgar Allen Poe
Book One - ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ by Gaston Leroux
Book Two - ‘Dracula’ by Bram Stoker
Book Three - ‘Frankenstein’ by Mary Shelley
Book Four - ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ by Victor Hugo
Book Five - ‘Strange are of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’ by Robert Louis Stevenson
Each of these works have walked with me through some really hard times. I’m so excited to create something that tells each one of these cherished stories in a fresh way and hopefully renews excitement in timeless works.
I hope I don’t bug you to death in between now and October 7th, but I do hope you’ll buy/rent my debut novel and suggest it to a friend.
